I wanted to have Tuna steak, but they didn’t have them fresh and I was recommended a scabbard fish with banana. I told them that I didn’t have a good experience with this dish at a restaurant that I went previously. But I was guaranteed that it would be really tasty, and I trusted them and ordered it.And wow, it was so different and so so tasty! The service, the atmosphere, the food and everything was so great. I was very happy dining here, and I would come back again for sure!
A very nice restaurant located in a side alley. The waiter was very nice and spontaneously made a very last-minute reservation for us. We had one of the best bolo do caco with garlic here, plus two excellent espatadas with a side dish included in the price (chips and salad). The skewers cost 13.50 each with a side dish.Very tasty and absolutely recommendable!
Loved this restaurant - quirky wooden decor. Wonderful welcoming manager who seems fluent in a multitude of languages to suit his Cosmopolitan clientele. Food truly exceptional (tried the traditional scab and fish with banana, superb)- really hope we can enjoy another meal here before we leave. Location is a quiet side street with beautiful black & white paving, we sat outside. Loved every moment & don't hesitate to recommend - book in advance to make sure you have a reservation.
Perfect place for a dinner. Cozy place with a really pleasant waitress. He help us to choose best wine. Very delicicous fish! I recommend it! Traditional pork was at the same level as fish. And what about garlic bread? Amazing. We want to come back...
Located on a quiet street, the vibe and atmosphere of the restaurant is an experience in of itself, cool decor and design. The food was really good. We got garlic bread and fried scabbard with banana - our favourite place for fried scabbard with banana. The portions were perfectly generous with a side salad and potatoes that were perfectly cooked. Service was really friendly, think he may have been the owner? You get a complimentary shot of poncha, which was really good as well. Highly recommend this place.
I ordered a sabre fish with banana, a national dish in Madeira. Pleasant service, hearty portions. It was very atmospheric to sit outside away from the crowds of tourists.
The restaurant layout is interesting and very unique. Friendly warm service and good food, wasn't too busy, would recommend!
Absolutely loved eating here my first night in Madeira. The owner was warm and helpful, and offered to make me a 1-person serving of the bolo do caco since I was dining alone (though it’s so good, I could’ve eaten a normal order I’m sure!). Great prices, too. And a free shot of poncha to end your meal!
